They are the bits that you may use a half dozen times in a five year period. What they are is the 70 or so bits that you will never see in as really good set of expensive router bits. As long as you remember that they are not the top of the line and go a little easy with them you should be just fine. This is a great set of router bits that you would not normally buy. No, they are not the top of the line bits. These are the bits you go to Menards and pay $24 for and use twice for that special project.
In my opinion this is a great set to give a huge variety of cuts for those who don't have the money or years vested in this selection.The only thing I noticed is the stickers that have the descriptions were not stuck down when they arrived, this was an easy fix I just ran my fingers along each sticker and problem solved.If your looking for a good starter set with 1/2" shank with carbide blades you can't go wrong for this price. I have yet to use them all, but so far they cut very nice and for 1/2" shank it a great deal. I ordered this bit set and was very surprised at the quality of the bits, especially for Carbide blades. After inspection of all the bits they look superb no nicks or obvious problems with any bit that I could find. They may not last as long as a as higher priced bits, but I figure bits I use a lot I'll replace down the road with higher price/quality bits.I needed a large selection of bits and was not willing to spend $20-40/bit to get started.

I believe this is an exceptional value and would buy the set again. I suspect they all will last me years to decades with good care.
I have used half a dozen different bits on perhaps 15-20 hard wood work pieces each without dulling, burring or failure. The case is adequate but flimsy and I carry the (aluminum) case in a canvas tool bag.

Most are two bladed, many with bearings (that stand up fine).
I think most of the other reviewer comments are valid. The set does not have the true round-over bits as someone mentioned. I might be able to remove a bearing to do round overs. The metal case is light weight, but I expected nothing different for the price.
Smooth cuts but I don't force feed, and make multiple passes. It's a very good deal if you know the limitations.This is a follow up: After using many more of the bits, I think more highly of the set for the price. I would rate the set with more stars, but I think they could have done better with the assortment of bits, however I am not at all disappointed in the purchase-- it is great for just starting out. My set arrived in fine condition-- case and bits. I've only used one of the straight bits to test my set up of my new Bosch router and Bosch router table. My labels are not coming off as some reviewers suggested, but I ran a piece of transparent tape over them just in case. It does have corner rounds with bearings.
Eventually, I learn which bits I'll use most often (1/2 inch straight) and buy just one bit of higher quality-- but so far there has been no need. I'm new to routing. These bits are fine for occasional use, but not full professional, and the price reflects that just fine. I'll "practice" with this set, and if I get good and get into using good woods, I'll buy better bits of just those I really need.
It has an exceptional assortment of bits for almost any purpose which is perfect for an aspiring amateur woodworker like me.Buy this set and practice/test with it. Its a no brainer. Thats 480 feet of roundover'ing and the bit cut just as smoothly on the last foot as the first and the bearing still spun just as smoothly as a new one. Sure the stickers are coming off and yes the box is a little cheezy just like everyone else has said but quit whining. 80 bits for less than $1 each. When you find a bit that you really like, then mate it up with an individual $35 - $50 bosch or freud bit for your production piece if your worried about that $200 worth of cherry stock you just got from Rockler.I did use the 3/4 roundover to smooth all 4 corners on ten 12ft treated 4x4s that I used to build by kids playground swingset.
